Darbi had an echo done again on her heart today. It showed the left ventricles in her heart had become enlarged which means the heart is working harder, a result of the PDA being open. The plan is to have surgery on it but all of this will be decided when the doctors do their rounds tomorrow. We knew she would need this surgery but we were just hoping she would get a little bigger before it became a necessity. She's strong though and she's proved herself so far so we're hoping she'll do just fine with this surgery. Stay tuned for news from tomorrow!
She's got a big heart!!

Does this mean she will be able to leave Primary's sooner? Do you know if the ventricles will shrink after the surgery? Good luck, little Darbi!! You're in our prayers!
I hope the doctors give you the best options. Remember, the doctors don't make decisions, you do. You have every right to be highly involved in these types of things. I truly hope they are taking good care of you and your little one up there. Let me know if you need anything! :)

(oh, I'm also your visiting teacher :) sorry... I'm just used to signing my name with "Mom to Mercydez" after it. Bad habit.)
